ODK Engineering is a firm owned and operated by First Nations professionals.
ODK provides professional project management, civil engineering services, construction management and consulting services to First Nations communities, organizations, government agencies, and the Aboriginal business sector. We are a Northern Aboriginal Contractor and a registered Keeyask Cree Business.
Our Name
ODK Engineering is derived from Oodanooketoh (pronounced O-dah-noh-kee-toh), which translates to “works for them”and carries with it the spirit of close community relationships. The name Oodanooketoh was chosen during a traditional Ojibway naming ceremony to embody the values that the company holds.
Our Logo
Beavers are known as ecosystem engineers, constantly reshaping the environment to suit their needs. The beaver is representative of ODK’s drive to work with nature and communities to design the world around us. The elements of design in the logo conveys the paradigm that ODK works within. The colours of the tipis are the four colours of the medicine wheel: red, white, black, and yellow. These colours represent many of the cycles in life such as the seasons, stages of life, medicines, the four elements, and the cardinal directions. The machinery intertwined with the land, water, and sky demonstrates the interrelation of the natural world, and ODK’s ability to work within this worldview.

ODK Engineering’s mission is to provide professional project management and engineering services that will advance economic opportunities for First Nations people; leading to better communities in which to live.
Our strength is our inherent ability to understand and promote our client’s goals and objectives. We ensure the project supports First Nation’s communities by providing economic opportunities and the transition of business knowledge for local trades and operators. We work closely with our clients and ensure that local employment is maximized throughout the project.
