We are a media studio dedicated to giving young people access to professional music recording, photography, film, art and design equipment, at a price that is affordable.
The idea for Old Grammar School Media came about when we realized that there is very little opportunity for young bands, photographers, film makers and artists to get their hands on the equipment they need to explore and develop their creative talents. College studio’s are always fully booked and exclusivly for those on their respective courses. Professional commercial music recording studios can be very expensive, particularly for us youngsters with minimum wage jobs! Many people learn best by doing, fiddling and having fun. But, unless you are particularly wealthy, who can go home and ‘mess about’ in their recording studio? Who has a pro photography studio at home?
Until now, the opportunity to use professional media equipment has been reserved for, well, the “professionals”. We are here to bring that opportunity to every young person in Cornwall. You don’t have to be a photography, sound engineering, film, media, art or design student to come and use our studio. If you are interested (even an inkling!) in any of the media subjects, we encourage you to come along and see if that interest may develop into a career path for you.
