Olgar Distillery was founded in 2014 in Zomet Koah, a small town located just south of Kiryat Shmona at the foot of the magnificent Naftaly Mountains. Our journey began with extensive research and experimentation to achieve a flavor that brings back subtle, yet immediately recognizable memories of our ancestral homes. For example, the sweet taste of cherries that our grandmothers would cover with sugar to prepare liqueur for the winter months, or the apple aroma that reminds us of hot and joyful summers in the countryside.
Our new home in the north of Israel is surrounded by beautiful orchards cultivated by loving and hardworking people who came from different corners of the world, but with the same goal of making this place their own. We set out on a journey to share the fruits of this land with people all around the world, while also preserving our legacy.
At Olgar Distillery, we are committed to using only locally grown products. We do not buy alcohol, as we use a distillation process to produce it from the fruits, just as our ancestors did for centuries. We then use our grandmothers' recipes to create our liqueurs. We monitor every step of the production process to ensure that our customers receive a 100% natural product.
Our philosophy is to preserve our heritage by using the methods and recipes of our grandparents, while also researching and creating new flavors using local fruits and spices. We believe that this approach allows us to keep our traditions alive while adapting to nature and supporting local farmers.
Our secret is that while the distillation process is scientific, there is always room for a little bit of magic. Every year, the fruits and spices taste different depending on the weather. We buy our fruits from equally passionate and loving people who grow wonderful produce in the north of Israel. We work hard with love and care, bringing sunshine and joy to people's hearts.
