The Ombudsman, for the fulfillment of his duties, is supported by an office. This office is legally anchored in Article 10, paragraph 1 of the National Ordinance on the Ombudsman. The working procedures and organization of the Ombudsman’s Office are determined by the Ombudsman. The terms of employment for the personnel employed are laid down in a staff regulation. The Ombudsman is therefore authorized to hire personnel under a civil law employment contract. This regulation is established after obtaining approval by national decree. The budget of the Office, as well as the accountability for the expenses incurred, form part of the national budget and accounts under the chapter of State Organs.
