Hi, there! I'm Tammy. Passionate special needs & patient advocate, educator, author, speaker, podcaster, entrepreneur, thought leader & change-maker. Aside from my most important job being a mother and grandma, I am also the creator of the On-Air Advocate and soon-to-be Parent Advocacy Academy™. I am passionate about providing education, advocacy, and support services to parents of children, teens, and young adults with special needs and chronic/complex medical conditions.   I also have a deep love for providing that same support to all caregivers and families that are looking for patient advocacy for their loved ones. How did I get here? My journey has many layers with the family dynamics of being a single parent raising 4 children, working within the community, and navigating my own entrepreneurial journey. I have been a caregiver and advocate for over 24 years for my son who has different abilities and complex medical needs.  Additionally, I’ve worked in a hospital setting, advocated for the elderly, and assisted in the school system.  I am a passionate believer that each one of us has the power to be the change we wish to see in our communities and world. Volunteer and community involvement are at my core. I have been blessed to have had the opportunity over the years to work directly with organizations like the Make A Wish Foundation, Children's Hospital, Women's Domestic Abuse Center, Catholic Social Services, and more. My ultimate goal is to help bridge the gap in the areas of education, advocacy, and supportive services that I found missing as a special needs parent and caregiver over the last 2 decades. I believe when we have the tools, strategies, and resources we need to effectively advocate for our loved ones, we minimize our stress and work toward the best outcomes for ourselves and our families.
