The 1y4e website hub offers information on a curated range of practices that are currently making a measurable difference in the climate crisis. With accessible information on topics that relate to everyone, this helpful platform is intended as a bridge to deeper engagement through useful “action” and “definition” links.
To assist staying on track while learning about and taking meaningful actions, participants can join the 1y4e Journey. Once a week for a full year, participants receive an email reminder for the 1y4e Weekly Challenge. After the user logs in to their unique personal dashboard, our gamified Journey presents current seasonal food info, timely best practices, and a quiz question regarding sustainable living. By engaging, participants earn points that are tallied on their dashboard–as well as best practices imprinted into memory for the years to follow.
At the end of a year, each participant's total points are then converted into a US dollar amount that funds real trees planted in certified reforestation projects via our reforestation partners, Delta Institute and One Tree Planted.
The 1y4e Journey is 100% free. One Year for Earth / 1y4e is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, and all donations are tax-deductible.
