Influenced by the illness and death of our daughter Ophelia, we want to work to ensure that the topic of infant death can be discussed openly in society.
We want to support other people in a similar or generally very drastic life situation by helping to remove the taboos from various topics (in particular child and illness/cancer, palliative situation, dying process and grief work).
With our work, we also want to have a positive impact on the system and associated institutions (e.g. development of pediatric palliative care, bereavement counseling).
We operate through our association “Ophelia's Legacy”, which was founded in August 2023 and now has over 150 members. The association is co-chaired by us, Lukas Bissegger and Nathalie Hofer.
