The Organization for Rural Self-Help Initiatives (ORSHI) is a local Non-Governmental, not-for-profit organization that seeking to promote a self-development process that removes the causes of underdevelopment and poverty, through education, support, service provision and participation in Tanzania.
ORSHI works hard directly with communities in remote rural areas of Tanzania to find sustainable solutions to overcome poverty and injustices. Many of these rural communities are very isolated without reliable roads, electricity, clean and safe water, schools, or clinics/dispensaries. With limited resources, we have established programs that are providing long-term solutions to communities in need in the villages of Tanzania.
With projects in the field of Food Security/Sustainable Agriculture, Education/Vocational, Water and Sanitation (WASH), and Healthcare, we make underprivileged children, youth, women, and disadvantaged men privileged again.
