Our Past Initiative is a youth-led organization dedicated to empowering Rwandan youth through social mobilization, education, and community-driven impact. Our work focuses on remembrance, resilience, and rebuilding communities by fostering unity and positive change.
What We Do:
1. Commemoration & Education – Organizing Our Past Events and other initiatives to honor the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi, educate youth, and promote reconciliation.
2. Community Support – Renovating homes for genocide survivors, providing essential resources, and fostering economic empowerment.
3. Youth Empowerment & Leadership – Engaging young people in social change, peacebuilding, and development initiatives.
4. Menstrual Hygiene Management – Building hygiene management rooms in schools to ensure young girls have access to safe and dignified facilities.
