The mission of the Oyo State Multi-Door Courthouse (OYSMDC) is to supplement litigation as the available resource for justice, by the provision of an enhanced, timely, cost effective and user friendly access to justice. The Multi-Door refers to the various options available at the Oyo State Multi-Door Courthouse (OYSMDC) including Mediation, Arbitration, Hybrid Processes and Early Neutral Evaluation. The Oyo State Multi-Door Courthouse (OYSMDC) provides efficient, flexible and impartial administration of ADR proceedings. The Oyo State Multi-Door Courthouse (OYSMDC) has access to eminent and experienced arbitrators, mediators and experts chosen from different jurisdictions, and with the widest range of expertise in their respective professional field. The Oyo State Multi-Door Courthouse Law was promulgated in 2017 to create a legal framework for the operations of the OYSMDC and to create a proper environment for the fulfilment of its overriding objectives. In order to give maximum effect to its overriding objectives, the functions and roles of key justice sector stakeholders have been incorporated into the provisions of the law. The Oyo State Multi-Door Courthouse is connected to the Oyo State Judiciary and our services. The provision of the Practice Direction 2018 gives the court the power to refer cases to the Oyo State Multi-Door Courthouse (OYSMDC) for amicable resolution aimed to improve access to justice using the most appropriate ADR mechanism. Our management teams are guided by the Oyo State Multi-Door Courthouse (OYSMDC) Law 2017 in the operation of the centre. Our ADR processes are conducted in line with our Practice Direction which was written in simple English for the convenience of all users.
