We specialise in Balaramapuram Handlooms, distinctive regional textiles from southern Kerala, India. Sri Chithra Thirunal Balarama Varma, the final king of Travancore, brought weavers with him. Handwoven Sarees and Dhotis of the highest calibre. Our community, Paadha, has some of the top designers in the nation, drastically altering the way we perceive and utilise handlooms. In Balaramapuram, there are hardly any original clusters left. The final few clusters remain at the station known as Shaligothram Therivu, often referred to as Balaramapuram Therivu (Balaramapuram street). By outsourcing the weaving to other regions in the south of India, such as Tirupur, we could have cheaper weaves and subsequently cheaper handwoven products, but that would entirely defeat the goal of what our community is accomplishing here. More than just a corporate endeavour, this is an effort at cultural rediscovery; it aims to restore the former splendour and value the genuine artisans who remained. It involves sharing the stories of the weavers and, after all this time, finally paying them fairly.
In the not too distant future, we intend to diversify into organic food items. Let's begin with the fundamentals. Clothing, food, and a healthy lifestyle.
