PAESOE was setup with the following objectives.
- To keep all Emergency surgical Officers of Ethiopia closely knit and in constant touch with each other and build a spirit of unity for a common goal: “improve quality and accessible obstetric and emergency surgical care for the most rural poor population of our country”.
- To create, associate or co-operate with any other societies or associations having similar objectives locally or internationally.
- To facilitate continued medical education, PhD, Medical speciality locally or internationally for members of ESOAE.
- To facilitate clinical scholarship, sharing of evidence-based best clinical practice
- To actively participate in research and quality health care development in our country
- To develop reproducible functioning system nationwide to assist monitoring and evaluation.
- To develop interprofessional collaboration for improving patients and community health outcomes.
- To form an international link with similar Associate clinicians
- To share best practices among ESOAE and utilize it to improve service.
- To delegate members of the association in trainings, in continued medical education and issues relevant to the association.
- To assist to remain competent and current in the practice of medicine.
- To represent ourselves in the health system of our country and to enable our voices heard to safeguard our welfare.
