Pakse Hotel & Restaurant is the earliest taller building erected under the supervision of King Chao Boun Oum, the last ruler of Champasak in 1962.
A total renovation was completed in 2003 which updated the property to modern standards.
In 2010 it was awarded "Asian Green Hotel: certification and officially granted a three-star ranking.
