Pancha Yajnas are five sacred duties that one must perform for maintaining balance and harmony. They are: Deva yajna (to the Lord-Iswara), Pitr. Yajna (to family and ancestors), Brahma Yajna (to our Vedic culture), Manushya Yajna (to our fellow human beings), and Bhutha Yajna (to the Eco-system). To live in harmony, requires us to be sensitive to others, and to the environment. Such a human does not take anything in Creation for granted. He/she realizes the importance of the appropriate use of free will and makes a deliberate choice of right action and does not give in to raga dwesa (likes and dislikes). Such a person is ever grateful to the Lord (Iswara) for all that is bestowed on him and appreciates it by performing the Pancha Yajnas
