Panel to the People (P2TP) is an intercollegiate multinational nonprofit hosting valuable conversations featuring renowned experts on salient topics via public webinars while also helping our local and global communities via mentorship, volunteering, fundraising, journalism, and research. Founded in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic, our organization was originally born as a student-led initiative to combat dangerous misinformation and disinformation through open interdisciplinary panels, expert-led discussions, and grassroots information activism. While we remain committed to our mission, our organization has also undergone an expansion. Some of these activities include a mentorship program (People's Prep) catered to underfunded high schools and institutions with high proportions of students of color, a student-led online magazine (People's Pulse), an undergraduate intercollegiate research program, and a local volunteering program.
Currently, our organization is fully dedicated to the fundamental five: 1) increasing the public's civic literacy and knowledge via open webinars and free online magazines, 2) proposing new solutions and informing our society via issue-specific research projects and conferences, 3) increasing accessibility to higher education via free high school mentorship and college admissions preparatory programs, 4) fundraising and donating to organizations that share our values of reformation, and 5) providing volunteering services for our local communities. As our tagline proudly states, we endeavor to inform and reform our society locally and globally while remaining committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
