For over a decade now my life has revolved around F1 - celebrating the icons, heroes and history of the sport that I’ve loved for as long as I can remember. Yes I create artwork around other genre too like Lego, film and Superheroes, which oddly enough seem to be a very similar fanbase. But it’s the F1 side of things that dominates my work and is progressively strengthening the deeper I get - it’s an honour to be considered to be part of the sport that I’m fundamentally just a massive fan of, regularly working directly with teams, sponsors and F1 themselves.
In recent years I’ve created portraits for Bruno Mars to mark his 24k Magic tour, been commissioned by Star Trek to celebrate 50 years, live painted at Chelsea FC’s title winning party, with Team Sky on the Tour of Britain, and live paint annually with England Rugby at the RPA Awards.
Highlights of my F1 work include live painting with Scuderia Ferrari in Monaco, with McLaren to mark Jenson’s last race in Abu Dhabi, and with Mercedes AMG Petronas in Barcelona for Epson and in Mexico City for Petronas. Commissioned by F1 to mark the 1000th race in China, twice by Pirelli, by Monster Energy to gift to Lewis to mark his 2014 world title, for Martin Brundle’s 60th, and by Jenson Button. Gallery shows during race weeks in Monaco, Mexico City and in Singapore 6 years running. Partnering with British Embassies in F1 cities around the world under their ‘Creativity is GREAT Britain’ banner, and with BRDC at the British GP. Creating portraits with James Hunt’s family and with Instituto Ayrton Senna to commemorate 20 years.
I’m represented in every F1 Paddock Club worldwide by Memento Exclusives. And through Wishbone publishing’s UK Gallery network.
The most empowering thing from my journey and exposure with F1 is being given the confidence and support to really push the boundaries - and my drive to set a new benchmark in automotive art led me to create the life-size Senna bronze statue that now lives permanently at McLa
