Pena Bangsa was established due to national activities and concerns. It began with three individuals embarking on a long journey. Through the dedication of its alumni, Pena Bangsa successfully became an autonomous arts organization at Unpad in Dipatiukur, after initially being a mentorship program under BEM FEB Unpad. This struggle was not in vain, as for six consecutive years, Pena Bangsa—relocated to Jatinangor since 2017—won the FEB Awards in the Favorite BSO of the Year category.
Each year, Pena Bangsa mentors 45 younger students, ranging from 4th-grade elementary to 8th-grade middle school students. The organization’s main activity for these mentees is academic tutoring, which provides all members the opportunity to teach. Beyond academics, Pena Bangsa also offers non-academic activities such as arts, music, and literature under a program called Kreatif. To provide a more enriching experience, Pena Bangsa frequently collaborates with other autonomous arts organizations, allowing mentees to learn directly from experts. This initiative is called Tematik.
In addition to education, Pena Bangsa also supports its mentees through the Scholarship Program, where each mentee receives financial assistance twice per organizational term.
Pena Bangsa has two flagship programs that will take place this semester. First, there are Vivala and GOPB, which invite children from all over Bandung to participate in exciting competitions. Meanwhile, parents are also encouraged to attend an informative seminar while their children compete, ensuring that everyone benefits from the event.
Lastly, there is POKETS, an internship program designed for first-year university students to gain hands-on experience in what it’s like to be part of Pena Bangsa.
