Barry began his real estate career on the Monterey Peninsula. After receiving his broker’s license, he created his own company, Peninsula Realty, which was located at 5th & San Carlos in Carmel-by-the-Sea. His focus was primarily the Carmel and the Pebble Beach market.
After relocating to the Reno/Tahoe area in 1993, Barry also obtained his Nevada broker’s license. The focus of his brokerage company (Throgmorton & Co) shifted from residential properties to investment real estate with offices in Reno and Las Vegas. He specialized in 1031 transactions in the $2-$20 Million range representing clients and sourcing investment properties west of the Mississippi. With the downturn of the investment market in 2008, Barry would returned to the Monterey Peninsula in 2010.
