The People’s Choice Drinks Awards incorporates two competitions, one for wines and one for spirits. The consumer-friendly ‘drinking moment’ categories attract submissions from all over the world, in any packaging formats and at any price point.
Entries are welcomed from all sources, including importers, independent retailers, supermarkets, on trade suppliers, restaurants and bars, distributors and producers.
There are also retailer and on-trade supplier of the year categories as well as a video competition which are free to enter.
The PCDA competitions provide excellent commercial benefits to the shortlisted and medal winning drinks producers and suppliers, including:
Invaluable judges’ comments and tasting feedback from consumers and professionals - offered free of charge to all those entering the competitions. These can be used for product listings, marketing campaigns and for direct feedback on new products and/or vintages
Direct stockist link from the finalists/results page so consumers and trade can find your drinks and where to buy them (if stocked in the UK)
Free use of medal roundel artwork for use on marketing documents, labels and the printing of bottle/box/can stickers
Social media channels (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn) with regular posts to promote the finalists and medal winners
Traditional marketing and PR campaigns as well as regular newsletters to our trade database
Collaborations with consumer and trade publications with articles written by members of the PCDA team
PCDA YouTube channel featuring winners of the video challenge competition and interviews at the ceremony
How it works:
Hand-picked, enthusiastic wine and spirits consumers, including WSET students at all levels are chosen via an application process. They join professional judges including respected buyers, sommeliers. and importers to jointly assess the wines and spirits.
