People 1st is a locally based training organisation that employs over 100 staff and 50+ associates across 7 locations in Northern Ireland. Working closely with our partner organisations we provide vocational training, specialist corporate training and a range of other courses and employment support.
We are a major contract holder for the Department for Employment and Learning (DEL), offering a range of occupational training and qualifications to over 2,500 learners per year through a variety of courses and programmes including
• Skills for Life and Work - for 16 - 17 year old school leavers, equipping them with the skills and qualifications required for the workplace across 15 different vocational areas.
• ApprenticeshipsNI - for adults aged 16 – 24 who are employed and want to upskill and obtain accreditation in their occupational area
• LEMIS - an initiative designed to help unemployed people in the community
overcome those issues that may be preventing them from finding and keeping a job.
• Community Family Support - an initiative designed to help families make life changing decisions to enhance and improve their everyday lives. Also aims to prevent young people falling into the NEET.
We also offer an extensive range of bespoke corporate training across a range of different areas such as First Aid, Employment Academies, Short Courses, NVQ Diplomas and ILM management courses.
Through these vocational and corporate courses, we at People 1st meet the needs of a diverse range of customers, including 800+ private, public and third sector businesses, school leavers and jobseekers.
