Peta Kebijakan is an independent website tracking the status and outcome of legislation in Indonesia. We are using technology to make the Parliament more open and accessible.
Peta Kebijakan computes a prognosis for each legislation, which is the probability that the legislation will be enacted. Our computation is based on factors correlated with successful or failed legislation in the past.
What is the point of this?
a. More than hundreds of legislations will be considered each year. About less than ten percent will become law. Which legislations should we focus on?
b. Members of Parliament and their staff all know what legislations are essential because they have the institutional knowledge of what makes legislation important. The prognosis highlights will help broader stakeholders, including academia and civil society, about legislative development.
