Peterlee Town Council is a local council serving the people of Peterlee, in east Durham. The Council consists of 22 elected Members and has a staff team of around 50, plus casual staff, coaches and volunteers. The Council manages over 400 acres of public space in the town, as well as a number of venues such as the beautiful Shotton Hall conference & banqueting centre and the Pavilion sports & community centre. We organise and run a number of large town events every year many of which are held in our main park - Woodhouse Park - as well as a number of other parks and play areas, We also provide high quality sports venues and pitches, hosting Peterlee Cricket Club, Peterlee & Horden RFC, a number of saturday and sunday league football teams, and a bowls club. The Council also supports a range of social projects in the town We work in close partnership with a number of other public sector organisations operating in the area including the neighbourhood Police team, Fire & Rescue Service, Durham County Council, East Durham College, East Durham Trust, East Durham AAP and the Easington & The Dales Clinical Commissioning Group.
