PFC Pro is a District Energy Simulator and an outstanding techno-economic scenario analysis software for planning, design and operation optimization of integrated (or stand-alone) municipal and industrial multi-utility systems, including but not limited to District Heating, District Cooling, Water and Wastewater systems.
PFC Pro is founded by Mikael Jakobsson, and the fundamental well-proven calculation algorithms are based on PFC Classic (”PFC”), originally developed by Licentiate Bror-Arne Gustafsson at Chalmers Technical University since 1980s, and further developed by Hydroram AB in recent two decades. In 2021, Mikael Jakobsson, who has applied PFC for development and optimization of hundreds municipal utilities worldwide over the past twenty (20) years, started developing PFC Pro.
PCF Pro allows the users to build up detailed models of all facilities (inc. all components) in a utility system to reflect the reality – a true Digital Twin, with infrastructure representation. PFC Pro also applies control functions reflecting real operation of components, compared with other (equation-based) software in the market. PFC Pro performs real dynamic simulations (not only quasistatic), for water hammering analysis. PFC Pro simulate systems just as they are, without simplifications jeopardizing the quality of the output.
