Named after Philip Reid, an enslaved artisan who cast the Statue of Freedom that rests atop U.S. Capitol building. Founded by Kwasi Hope, historian.
Our focus areas were walking tours around different D.C. neighborhoods as well as developing the first African American tour of the U.S. Capitol for the 150th anniversary of the Statue of Freedom. This latter achievement was recognized in the 113th Congressional record.
