In the year 2007, Phoenix Tankers took delivery of its first VLCC, Phoenix Vanguard (301,666 DWT).
By of year 2008, the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore awarded the company Approved International Shipping Enterprise (MSI-AIS) as well as undertaking commercial management of one VLCC and two Aframax vessels on behalf of the shareholder as well as parent company, Mitsui O.S.K. Lines Ltd. We continued to expand and in year 2009, we acquired two newly built vessels, to boost our operations. In the same year, the company opened a branch office in London in order to tap into the spot-chartering west of Suez.
By year 2011, two more newly built Aframax vessels were delivered to the company, along with eleven VLCCs and four Aframax vessels that were placed by our parent company for commercial management by Phoenix Tankers.
In the same year, Phoenix Tankers finalized the purchase of the LPG Tanker business from Mitsui O.S.K. Lines Ltd.
To cater for the growth and expansion, Phoenix Tankers moved office to its current location in year 2011, while at the same time, increased its staff strength.
In year 2015, Helios LPG was formed in partnership with Dorian LPG in order to provide safe, efficient, and cost effective services to the global LPG shipping market. The partnership started with merely 4 vessels and has grown to 22 vessels since then.
