Founded in 1983, Preferred Health Professionals was the first Preferred Provider Organization network created in the Kansas City market. Today we offer access to 48 contiguous counties in and around the Kansas City Metropolitan area, with a network of almost 15,000 physicians and 70 hospitals and facilities. Our mission is to provide innovative, high-quality, cost-effective provider network arrangements, health care products, and services for the benefit of our customers, and ultimately improve the health status of the people in the communities we serve.
At Preferred Health Professionals, we offer customers more choice. Our PPO products include thousands of physicians, in virtually every practice specialty, as well as most hospitals throughout Kansas and Missouri. Through our strategic partnerships with other Midwest PPO networks like, ProviDRs Care, HealthLink, and Midland's Choice, access has now expanded to Iowa, Nebraska, Illinois, and South Dakota. Additionally, we partner with national travel/wrap networks offering members access to providers nationally.
Preferred Health Professionals works with payers, employers, carriers, TPAs, brokers, and networks to maximize the value and effectiveness of their managed care needs while maintaining quality care for members. We also partner with our customers to build a complete health care package that is flexible, comprehensive, and convenient.
