The goals of an Indigenous Recruitment and Employee Experience team are to:
Advance culturally safe recruitment that emphasizes invitation, community, connection and belonging
Ensure that Indigenous people, practices and protocols are reflected across all services provided by People & Culture (P&C)
Ensure traditional Indigenous practices and protocols are infused in our approach to the work
Enhance Indigenous employee experience from pre to post-hire, and create a culturally safer environment for Indigenous people to thrive in, bringing their full selves to the workplace
Develop strong authentic relationships with Indigenous communities, organizations, high schools and post-secondary programs
Promote Indigenous representation at all levels focusing on areas of leadership development, career progression and senior leadership development, including training for non-indigenous leaders
Ensure accountability mechanisms are established, implemented, communicated and embedded in PHSA culture for non-indigenous staff, managers and leadership for advancing Indigenous culturally safe employee experience
