Pierre Elliott Trudeau High School (also known as PETHS, PETS, Trudeau) is a bilingual English and French immersion public secondary school located in the City of Markham, Ontario, Canada. It was named in honour of the 15th Prime Minister of Canada, the Right Honourable Pierre Elliott Trudeau. The school is a host to several special education programs including an International Baccalaureate program, Cooperative education program, french immersion program, and developmentally delayed program. However, the school is slowly phasing out the Advanced Placement program, though exams can still be written, AP courses are no longer offered. In addition, PETHS now offers a Specialist High Skills Major in business, health & wellness, arts & culture and information computer technology. The school has a small gifted program along with all other secondary schools in York Region. In the 2016-2017 Fraser Institute rankings, Pierre Eliott Trudeau High School ranked 12th in the province of Ontario and 2nd in York Region, with an overall score of 9.2/10.
