Incorporated in 2000, U.S. Health Equipment Company, Inc. is family owned and operated. It is located in the beautiful Hudson Valley in upstate New York. The company was founded by Bernarr C. Schaeffer and his son Wayne M. Schaeffer to launch its flagship product, Saunex, a far-infrared sauna cabinet. In keeping with its health related mission, U.S. Health Equipment Company, Inc. collaborated with NASA scientist, Dr. B.C. Wolverton, to bring to market its newest product, the Plant Air Purifier®.
As well as holding the position of President of U.S. Health Equipment Company, Inc., Bernarr C. Schaeffer is currently CEO of Usheco, Inc., a custom plastic molding company he founded in 1961. Bernarr’s extensive design and manufacturing experience began over 50 years ago as Vice President of Battle Creek Equipment Co., then a leader in its field of health related products. In addition to holding seven patents, Bernarr helped design and manufacture many custom parts for a long list of dedicated customers.
Wayne M. Schaeffer is President and operations manager of Usheco, Inc. and Vice President of U.S. Health Equipment Company, Inc. Wayne has over 30 years experience in design and manufacturing and holds several patents. He has worked closely with customers to help design, develop and produce quality custom component parts.
Other family members contributing to the development and manufacture of the Plant Air Purifier® are Lorene Schaeffer, CFO, Alethea Schaeffer, Project Manager, and James Schaeffer, Sales Manager.
