Nastaran Ahmadi is a Brooklyn-based writer from post-revolutionary Iran. Her plays have been developed and/or produced by theater companies and festivals such as The Cherry Lane Theater, New York Theatre Workshop, Actors Theater of Louisville, and The Oregon Shakespeare Festival. Her first original short film, “This Is Harriet,” had its West Coast premiere at The Mammoth Film Festival in February 2022 and recently had its East Coast premiere at Chelsea Film Festival where it won The Audience Award and Best Actor in a Short Film. Nastaran Ahmadi’s original pilots for television include the hour-long drama, “Always Never” and half-hour comedies, “Ozzie 2.0" and “Welcome to Centerville." Nastaran has received residencies from The Exchange’s Orchard Project, Vineyard Arts Project, and Lower Manhattan Cultural Council. She holds a BA in Theater from Washington University in St. Louis and an MFA in Playwriting from Yale School of Drama, where she was awarded the ASCAP Cole Porter Prize in Playwriting.
