Philip Lucas began his career in the financial services industry in 1986 with Legal & General. After six successful years, he founded PLFM as an independent financial advisory firm.
In 2014, PLFM was incorporated and became directly authorised by the financial regulator. Today, the firm proudly serves around 250 families and a growing number of businesses.
With over 65 years of combined industry experience, PLFM is known for its high client retention and strong multigenerational relationships. In fact, our very first client from 1986 remains an active advocate of the business and has referred numerous clients over the years.
Many SMEs have benefited from working with PLFM, particularly in areas such as key person insurance, director share protection, and group pension schemes. In recent years, we’ve also guided clients through business exit strategies, including trade sales, management buyouts, and Employee Ownership Trusts (EOTs)—leveraging our deep expertise, experience, and network.
PLFM is also a proud supporter of both local and national charities, and currently makes regular donations to Dementia Adventure and Camp Mohawk.
