Francesco Saverio Poliseno, after a long and distinguished career in Generali – leading Marine Insurance Company – in 1984 decided to start up his own business as insurance broker founding UNIASS which, after few years, was renamed POLIASS.
From the beginning POLIASS offered an insurance consulting service highly skilled with the aim to reduce technical and information asymmetries between Insurance Companies and their Clients/Assured.
The joint venture signed in 1998 with Willis – world leader in wholesaler brokerage – gave POLIASS the opportunity to enhance its international network of relationships and to be accredited by the main British and continental insurance companies.
After more than 30 years of activity, POLIASS is now one of the leading companies in the Italian insurance broking scenario thanks to its strong relationships, both for Marine and Property, with top Clients represented by some of the most important Shipping Companies and Shipyard as well as Large Industrial and Commercial Groups.
In 2017 POLIASS signed a strategic partnership agreement with GBSAPRI Group born from the merger of two historic Italian insurance brokerage firms: SAPRI Broker Srl, established in 1951, specialized in Corporate and Affinity, and General Broker Service SpA, established in 1991, Italian leader in the Public Administration sector.
GBSAPRI Group is nowadays one of the most important Italian insurance brokerage companies counting on more than 100 professionals with branches all over Italy.
