PEG, founded 1990, closed 2002, was a multiracial, volunteer-based organization working for environmental justice in the San Francisco Bay Area. PEG members campaigned against the first Gulf War, the toxic fumigant methyl bromide, and the "greening of hate" or the use of environmental arguments to scapegoat immigrants.
