We are a eco lodge situated among a kandyan forest in the heart of Sri Lanka. We have 7 different lodges of two categories; superior and mudhouse. All the lodges and infrastructure are made of local materials found on our 12 acres of land. These materials include locally made bricks, mud and wood. We employ all our staff from the local and surrounding villages, and provide the necessary training to match our service standards.
Polwaththa is ideal for the nature lover who enjoys learning about the traditional village culture and the environment we are situated in. With over 60 species of birds we are ideal for the keen bird-watchers and wildlife enthusiasts. Among the different species of birds, you can often spot a deer, giant squirrel, monkey, or one of our dogs.
We offer different activities including a village walk and a river swim which is ideal for families and those interested in learning about the village lifestyle. This can be combined with a small trip to a Tea factory which is about 10km up into the tea hills. Furthermore, we offer different treks to the famous Knuckles mountain range and a trek through rice and vegetable fields which includes a traditional lunch. Other activities include a free cooking demonstration, a day-trip to Kandy city and other excursions to Pinnawela, Sigiriya,etc.
