Pondicherry University, a Central University, was established in 1985 by
an Act of Parliament with the objective to disseminate and advance knowledge by providing instructional and research facilities in such branches of study as it may deem fit and more specifically, to make special provisions for studies in French and for integrated courses in Science, Social Sciences, and Humanities. The aim is to encourage interdisciplinary studies and research in the University.
The University has 15 Schools, 54 Departments, PG Integrated, P.G.Diploma/Certificate & Research programmes. Students are selected through an All-India Common Entrance Examination online mode as well as CAT score. The placement Cell is one of the sections that provide placement activities in the University Campus. The main responsibility of the Placement Cell is to motivate, train and prepare the students of the University for Campus placements. It plays a vital role in counseling and guiding the students of the University for their successful career placement, which is a crucial interface for the students between the stages of completion of the academic programme of students and entry into suitable employment.
