Portalgeriatrico was launched in 2001 in Argentina being the premier site enabling family caregivers to find a senior housing facility for their loved ones. The website has evolved into a platform dedicated to the entire lifecycle of our ageing population ranging from senior living to home care assistance. PORTALGERIATRICO is a marketplace in which providers have the possibility of showcasing themselves to family members in need of profesional support. More importantly PORTALGERIATRICO has evolved into a source of valuable information enabling family caregivers to give better support to their parents, grandparents and relatives as well as ageing friends. In the "tools" (recursos) area we present weekly practices and ideas to improve the intergenerational support and understanding. In the Home Care section we enable caregivers, nurses and other service providers to offer their services without intermediaries. In the Residence section we enable senior residences the access to potential clients. We contribute to exchange best practices among the sector with the objective of improving living conditions for our senior citizens in those communities. We also encourage and support developers of new senior living facilities. Our horizon is the Latin American region which is undergoing an unprecedented ageing process for which the region is completely unprepared.
