Pretect Devices is developing the Vedette®, a continuous monitoring system to detect and prevents infiltration and extravasation injury in NICU patients caused by IV line leakage.
Under the current standard of care NICU patients commonly receive IV leakage-related injuries, which leads to devastating injury and debilitating long-term conditions including chemical burns, scaring, and in extreme cases amputation outcomes which the Vedette® is being designed, in consultation with healthcare providers, to prevent completely.
Pretect Devices developed from the winning team of 2021 Perth Biodesign for Medtech course, two New Industries: Innovation Booster Grants, Medtech Actuator Accelerator cohort 8 graduates, and WA Innovator of Year Finalists (2024).
