There is a longstanding royal tradition in Sweden of supporting the arts, owing to the conviction that art and culture form an integral part of an open and modern society, with positive effects both on the individual and society at large. In 2019, the Swedish Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel materialized this conviction by founding the Princess Estelle Cultural Foundation (PREKS). Our purpose is to promote cultural activities in Sweden and contribute to an increased interest in, and knowledge of, contemporary art. In the long-term, our hope is to strengthen Stockholm's position as a significant city of culture in Europe.
