The Barotse Rangelands for Restoration Project (BR4RP) aims to foster transformational economic growth by promoting sustainable management and regeneration of Western Province’s natural resources, particularly its rangelands, through improved livestock production and management practices for smallholder farmers and herders.
The project envisages two parralel market driven strategies, that merge over time. Livlihood transformation will be achieved through improved cattle management and market development. Concurrently, effective communal land management will improve rangeland health, increase soil carbon sequestration and reduce GHG emissions.
