We are a dynamic collective of product inclusion and equity practitioners working within the tech industry, from companies such as Amazon, Workday, Google, Uber, Airbnb, Disney, PayPal, etc. Our informal cohort was founded by Mallory Carroll and Cindy Joung in 2021 to create a space for folks in our line of work to forge connections, build community, exchange knowledge, and mutually support each other as we navigate this nascent, often ambiguous, and challenging landscape.
Our collective’s vision is to create a movement within the tech industry to shift the culture toward prioritizing and investing in Product Inclusion and Equity. We strive to grow awareness of both the harm created by biased technology and the value of co-creating equity-centered tech solutions with systemically marginalized communities. Technology has the power to make great impact at a rapid speed and scale – as a coalition of product inclusion and equity practitioners, we are devoted to harnessing that power to drive equitable outcomes in the real world.
We created this LinkedIn page because we recognized the need to foster more nuanced discourse and debate that dives into the reality of product equity. Our hope is to gather more diverse perspectives and insights from people within and outside of the tech industry to expand and continuously evolve our idea of how to practice product equity within the confines of profit-driven environments–even though this work organically drives profit–that increasingly politicizes DEI.
