The GEREMIA project has the general objective of training and supporting those responsible for managing port water through innovative tools and solutions.
GEREMIA, Interreg Italy-France Maritime Programme, is in charge of preparing a joint plan to manage port water quality in order to reduce the risk of pollution by wastewater and possible impacts on surrounding marine environments.
The pilot activities are concentrated in the ports of Genoa, Olbia, La Spezia and Toulon.
The project is carried out by a partnership comprising the University of Genoa, Port of Genoa
Ecological Services, Eastern Ligurian Sea Port System Authority, National Research Council Institute for Coastal Marine Environment, Higher Institute for Environmental Protection and Research, and the University of Toulon.
