Yale Project Bright: Undergraduate Renewable Energy Co. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit advancing solar by collaboration with and leveraging of non-governmental institutions -- in the greater New Haven area, the United States, and abroad. Entirely student run, engineered, and financially managed, Project Bright aims to provide students with project-based experience in solar as well as leadership opportunities.
In 2015, Yale Project Bright partnered with SolarCity Corp. to bring solar to the university's private and residential sides.
Installation projects range from Yale's Kline Geology Laboratory to a primary school in Haiti and to a New Haven mango lassi streetcart. Recently, Project Bright is developing an Energy Café of Yale's West Campus. Using solar and other forms of renewable energy to power the café, Project Bright is developing a curriculum for local Connecticut to learn about energy cycles.
