ProSpon spol. s r.o. is a Czech company founded in 1992 and with 37 employees, the company is engaged in the development, production and distribution of high quality, but financially available medical devices for orthopaedics, traumatology and surgery.
The company is currently established in 80% of clinical workplaces in the Czech Republic and covers about 50% of the Czech Republic market for external fixators. The company also distributes 50% of its overall production to EU countries and around the world.
Sales of ProSpon products have steeply risen since its foundation. This has led to the continuous need for investments into new high-end equipment. For instance, in 2014 the company purchased a laser 3D printer for titanium alloys, which allows for the production of unique custom-made implants. We also have our own dimensional control department, that uses optical and coordinate measuring machines to clear individual products.
The company has seen a gradual increase in the number of employees. The rise in these numbers peaked in 2014, due to the merger of ProSpon and Medin Orthopaedics in 2014. This led to a significant expansion in ProSpon’s portfolio of orthopaedic devices and it paved the way for additive manufacturing of implants.
We have highly qualified employees that use high-end production equipment, such as CNC machines, EDM machines, conventional machine tools, as well as the 3D laser printer.
Currently our main areas of focus are large joint replacements for orthopedics and oncology, additive manufacturing of custom-made devices, external fixators and interference screws.
The company also produces implants for the replacement of small joints, instruments and implants for the reconstruction of the anterior cruciate ligament, spinal fixators and OEM products.
