The Punjab Road Safety and Traffic Research Center (PRSTRC) is a research and development institute established under Section 19(4) of the Punjab Police Act 2007. The institute is mandated to carry out research on road safety and traffic related issues in the state of Punjab and to provide training to the police and other stakeholders on these issues. The institute is headed by a Director, who is a domain knowledge specialist, and has a team of experts from various disciplines such as road safety engineering, geoinformatics, automotive safety, education and awareness, etc. The institute has carried out various studies on road safety and traffic related issues in the state of Punjab and has also developed various training programs for the police and other stakeholders.
