Psych Care Uganda is a registered, youth-led community-based organization dedicated to promoting the mental health and holistic wellbeing of adolescents and young people in Uganda. Officially registered in 2024, our formation was driven by a shared concern among young mental health advocates over the rising challenges affecting adolescents, especially in rural communities that don't have access to mental health support . The organization has grown into a dynamic force championing preventive and early intervention programs for adolescents aged 10–24 years.
Rooted in the belief that empowered adolescents are key to transforming communities, we work to ensure that young people regardless of their background have access to the knowledge, skills, and support they need to thrive mentally, emotionally, socially, and academically and impact their communities.
Our programs are community-centered, evidence-informed, and youth-driven, reflecting our deep commitment to sustainable change and inclusive development. Through school-based and community outreach initiatives, we focus on Prevention, Early intervention and Capacity building for adults to support young people and strengthen support systems.
Our growing team of passionate young leaders, volunteers, and mental health professionals collaborates with schools, health centers, local leaders, and Inter/national networks to build safe, inclusive, and supportive environments for young people. We believe in leveraging the strengths within communities to create lasting impact.
As we look ahead, Psych Care Uganda remains committed to scaling mental health support programs in more underserved communities, building strategic partnerships, and contributing to a Uganda where mental health can be prioritized, accessed, and adolescents holistically empowered to contribute to their communities.
