PUBLIO CORTÉS has been a Lawyer since 1993.
In the private sector, he has been a Trial Lawyer and Advisor on Commercial, Maritime, Administrative, Tax and Government Procurement Law.
His experience in the public sector begins in the Judicial Branch of Panama, as Law Clerk in the Chief Justice office of the Supreme Court of Panama; and continues in the Ministry of Economy and Finance of Panama, holding positions as Director of Government Procurement, General Director of Revenue and Vice Minister of Finance. By virtue of this, he has had experience in various international forums, highlighting the OECD Global Forum on tax transparency and exchange of information.
He has a master’s degree on Maritime Law from USMA, a Master's on Taxation from UNESCPA, a Specialization on International Taxation from the Universidad Externado de Colombia, and a course in International Tax Law from ITC Leiden.
He has been a lecturer on issues of Law and Professor of Law. He lives in Panama, speaks Spanish and English and is a member of the Colombian Institute of Tax Law.
