Mission:
The purpose of this organization is to join the different cultural organizations that identify as Southwest Asian and North African (SWANA/MENA) at Purdue, promoting diversity and inclusivity through the representation
of these ethnicities. It is dedicated to the education of the Purdue community and surrounding areas about SWANA’s rich community and culture. Moreover, the organization hopes to advocate for and fight on behalf of SWANA students, while also fostering a strong sense of belonging within the student body.
Vision:
The Purdue SWANA Student Union wants to see Purdue become one of the leading universities in the nation when it comes to representation and equality for SWANA students. We believe that a rising tide of representation for minority communities like ours will raise all boats and benefit everyone. We envision a Purdue campus where SWANA students, as well as all other minority communities fighting for recognition, receive equal opportunity to take advantage of scholarships, resources, and, most importantly, a cultural center.
