Introduction The Statistical Consulting Unit (SCU) is established by the Department of Mathematics, Statistics and Physics (MSP) to provide practical statistical solutions to challenging problems arising in academia, industry, business, health and other organizations. We provide statistical advice, analysis, and education to QU and Qatar State researchers by offering individual collaboration meetings, walk-in consulting, educational short courses, and support for interdisciplinary research projects. SCU’s statistical faculties and students are trained to help researchers design experiments, analyze and plot data, run statistical software, interpret results, and communicate statistical concepts to non-statisticians. Our assistance is free for Qatar University faculty, staff, and students on academic research projects. Vision To be leaders in making sophisticated statistical research methods available to and usable by scholars and practitioners in Qatar. Mission SCU’s mission is to provide statistical service, research and education to the Qatar community by offering individual collaboration meetings, walk-in consulting, educational short courses, and support for interdisciplinary research projects. Goal Our goal is to improve the quality of research and the use of statistics at Qatar University and to all state of Qatar. Collaboration SCU statisticians meet with Decision-makers, faculty, staff, graduate and undergraduate students and other organizations to understand their research or need, and think of ways to help them using statistics.
