The Queen's Translation Exchange (QTE) is based at The Queen’s College, University of Oxford. Our mission is to inspire lifelong engagement in languages and international culture, and in particular to encourage young language learners to continue with their studies through their schooling and beyond, at a time when fewer young people than ever opt to learn languages.
Our programmes include the annual Anthea Bell Prize for Young Translators,
a national creative translation competition for schools. We train university students as Creative Translation Ambassadors who design and lead creative translation workshops in schools. QTE hosts regular events as well as translation residencies in Oxford. To complement our community-based work, we have developed an Advocacy and Policy arm, through which we make the case for a creative, cultural languages education available to all.
