Queer Refugees Network Leipzig Overview

The Queer Refugees Network Leipzig supports refugees who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transsexual, intersexual and other queer people (LGBTIQ+). We can help you if you are facing discrimination, or other forms of violence. We can also assist you in finding housing and accompany you to official offices like the "Sozial" (Social Welfare office) or "Ausländerbehörde" (Aliens Department). There are other local LGBTIQ+ volunteers who support you, and we offer cultural activities to help you arrive in Leipzig. You will stay anonymous and we will not give your name and identity to anyone, in order to protect you. Wir helfen, wenn Geflüchtete Diskriminierung Gewalt aufgrund ihrer sexuellen Identität oder Orientierung erfahren. Wir unterstützen bei der Vermittlung von Wohnraum und begleiten Behördengänge z.B. zum Sozialamt oder der Ausländerbehörde. Es gibt weitere heimische LGBTIQ+ Ehrenamtliche, die die Geflüchteten unterstützen, und wir bieten kulturelle Aktivitäten, um das Ankommen in Leipzig zu erleichtern. Geflüchtete bleiben wenn gewünscht anonym, wir geben keine Kontaktdaten raus, um die Privatsphäre und Lebenssituation vieler Newcomer zu respektieren.
